At PwC we believe in being ‘part of it’: part of the global conversation and movement towards responsible business practices that create positive change in the world. We have many capabilities that are relevant to CR – the same ones we use in our businesses every day – and we aim to put these to use working with others to make a difference.

Through our own CR agenda, we support and advocate social enterprise as part of its focus on community engagement.

BCYF first conceptualized an award giving body for social enterprises five years ago as part of its Social Development Program. In 2014, PwC was initially approached to sponsor, and finding the two organizations’ visions aligned, it was decided that both BCYF and PwC  co-present the awards and call it Developmental Social Enterprise Awards.

BCYF has a long history of projects ranging from Disaster Response and Rehabilitation (The Sagip-Baryo program), Education (Opened charity schools, The Dalubhasang Tanglaw Award for Outstanding Public School Teacher, Various Scholarships), Community Development (Institute of Social Enterprise and Development) and Sports. Now approaching its Silver Jubilee, the Foundation believes that Innovative Social Solutions can be accomplished through CSR 3.0 (Citizenship, Sustainability and Social Responsibility) -driven Social Entrepreneurship and Personal Social Responsibility.
